WorkSafeBC's voluntary Partners in Injury and Disability Prevention Program offers incentives to employers who create and adhere to health and safety management systems aimed at improving workplace safety and helping injured workers return to work in a safe and timely way.

Participating employers work with a Certifying Partner to meet the program's standards. After passing an audit, employers receive a Certificate of Recognition (COR) and become eligible to receive a rebate on WorkSafeBC premiums.

The BC Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) has been selected by WorkSafeBC as the certifying partner for British Columbia waterfront industries.

The Partners in Injury and Disability Prevention program is relatively new in BC. Between 2002 and 2005, pilot projects were conducted in the road building, oil and gas and construction industry with success. In consideration of program expansion, WorkSafeBC conducted consultations with internal and external stakeholders throughout 2006. The WorkSafeBC Board of Directors approved the Partners Program in November 2006 with roll out to all industries.
